I am visiting UK next month and I plan to travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow by bus. I checked that there are a lot of bus trip from Edinburgh to Glasgow in a day. I would like to know, can I just go to the bus station and but the ticket from the counter instead of buy it early online? (So that my time travel can be flexible) At the bus station, is it easy to find the counter and get the ticket?

Thanks first.

You will easily find the ticket counter. But depending on when you go you may find a long queue, or find that it is closed.

With Citylink, you can buy your ticket from the bus driver as you get on. You will need to have cash, preferably the exact amount (usually the driver has change).

You can buy tickets for the Glasgow bus at the bus station or pay on the bus.
The ticket offices are in the centre block of the Bus Station and easy to find.
Finding the bus station at St Andrews Square, isn’t as easy, it’s just past Harvey Nicks and Louis Vitton. Walk past both and you’re there.

don’t travel by bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow, seriously it takes forever. get the train through from waverly station, it will shave hours off your journey.

a Train journey would be quicker
The Waverley Train Station is under the Balmoral Hotel
Or Haymarket Train Station is at the West End,

It depends where in Edinburgh you will be staying

The bus/train journey time is about the same length of time. If you are going by bus I’d advise you to go with Citylink, that bus takes you straight to Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow. Or if you are getting the train, get on at Waverly & off at Queen St Station in Glasgow. You can buy your tickets on board (bus & train.)
