What window of time is it best to get the lowest airfares prior to flight?

it appears that if you look at rates two months out, you get one set of rates and when you are in app a month of flight dates, the rates go down. What is the optimal window?

It depends on the destination as well…

Well, the airfares depend on different factors some of them are the demand of the destination, the period of the year, the day of the week, the anticipation, the class, if its round or one way trip, and the time you will stay on the destination, the hour of the fly. So consider all this. I can say that is good to make reservations like 2 months in advance, flights around mid day or red eye. Non high season. The stay shouldn’t be longer than 30days and shorter than 24 hrs. Economic class.. of course this could have a lot of penalties, charges for changes, non refundable etc… First of all feel free to ask the agent of the airline, to give you the cheapest fare available. Don’t hesitate to ask if there is anything cheaper for a different date or class. Maybe there are alternate aiports that are not so crowded. As well you can try on internet. Anyway Good luck.

2 months ahead is best, always fly tues, wed, or thurs,. You can also get good fares up to 2 weeks in advance, after that they go up alot. 30 day max. stay 24 hr min. If you buy one way you get charged 1/2 of the highest fare. It’s always cheaper to book a rt even if you don’t use the return. Best deals are on the internet! Times are posted, as well as prices, even a $5 difference. Be flexible with your dates.
